Tektro
Tektro brake systems range from open system, dual piston, radial master cylinder hydraulic disc brakes to cable actuated mechanical disc brakes and electric levers for use with linear pull brakes. Most utilize forged or cast aluminum components and designs for kids' and adult bikes, BMX, MTB and dirt jump to cyclocross and beach cruisers. Tektro performance road bike brakes include the R750, of carbon fiber construction.

Odyssey BMX
Odyssey BMX braking systems (calipers, pads, cables and levers) include heavy duty BMX cable for linear brakes, including their dual cable M2 and the M2 lever. Levers in left or right hand versions, small, medium and trigger. -
Flybikes
Flybikes' rim brakes and hangers are made of CNC machined 6061-T6 aluminum for less flex. The Flybikes' brake weighs 180 grahams (6.2 oz) and the hanger weighs 30 grahams (1 oz). All available in several colors.

Avid
Avid systems consist of disc brakes: hydraulic and ball bearing/cable-actuated, levers and rim brakes. Avid rim brakes can be utilized on cyclocross, tandem, recumbent and commuting bikes. Their Elixir series of hydraulic brakes are good for cross country, trail, all-mountain, freeride and hownhill riding, utilizing a specially designed closure system for decreased weight and improved lever feedback. -
Shimano
Shimano bicycle components include brake systems the company has developed. Brake systems for mountain and comfort bikes include series of V-brakes like the XTR, and the DEORE series which weighs in at 350g /pair; and the SLX series hydraulic disc brake. The Alfine series disc brake system is for comfort bikes and features hydraulic disc brake and aluminum lever with anodized finish.

Hayes
Hayes makes a wide range of hydraulic and mechanical brakes, capabilities ranging from freeride to cross country, all-mountain, dirt jumping, trekking, downhill and bmx uses. The Stroker series of hydraulic brakes includes their lightest disc brake offering in the Gram model with weights of 355g (160mm rotor), and 339g (140mm), great for weight conscious cross-country racing and all-mountain. Other systems include the Stroker Carbon, and the 321 gram, fluidless mechincal MX1 series. -
Paul Components
Paul Component Engineering builds brakes and brake levers. From V-brakes like the Motolite and Moto BMX, to the Touring Canti, the Neo Retro at 100g/wheel (without pads), and the Racer. The Racer brake can accommodate a wide tire or tire-fender combination with mounting bosses spread to 77mm; versions include center mount, and braze-on. -
TRP
TRIP brakes are series designed for performance road, mountain, cross, BMX and triathlon/time trial use. Many brake models feature Titanium hardware, while the EuroX series of carbon cyclocross brakes include aerodynamic u-design brakes and cantilever -carbon fiber model and magnesium model. Magnesium and carbon levers are available for BMX and weigh around 80 grams. -
Mrazek
The MOC V+ brake from Mrazek come in at 105 grams without pads and feature a center pull cable connection. Available in aluminum or magnesium models. The Limited Magnesium Edition weighs in at 77 grams. -
Magura
Magura builds brake systems in hydraulic rim series for cross country riding and disc brakes recommended for freeride, endurance, all mountain, cross country and XC racing. For example, the Louise Carbon is a full hydraulic disc brake compatible with Shimano STI, Sram trigger and Sram, and Rohloff twist grip shifters.

Salsa

Soma
Soma brake levers are made from forged aluminum and include an ergonomic model with two reach distances: 81.9mm and 72.2mm (for smaller hands). Urban series feature compatibility for tri/bullhorn bars, as reverse lever on Moustache bars, drop bars; for cross bikes or for any urban or touring bike. -
Cane Creek
Cane Creek makes road brakes and levers of light weight with features and models including dual- and single-pivot calipers, cold-forged aluminum arms, carbon fiber levers like the 200TT, and titanium hardware. The 200TT Carbon brake levers, for the end of bullhorn-style bars, are of carbon fiber construction with die-cast aluminum bracket and ergonomic comfort details. 200TT levers have a weight of 136g per pair. -
KoolStop
Kool-Stop develops and makes bicycle brake pads. Their products like the Koolite ti brake pad combine features like dual compound insert pads and titanium hardware for a total weight of 28 grams per pair.
